Week 2.2

Wow! This walk/run nearly killed me! I decided to try my old crappy uncomfortable running sneakers instead of my tennis shoes. OMG! I don't know if that was the problem or not, but my shins were killing me for all of intervals 1 and 2. They got better for interval 3 and 4, but my legs were getting tired for interval 5 and 6. I will go back to my tennis shoes next run and see if it is any better. If not, I will probably repeat week 2. I can do it, but it's hard, so I would rather repeat it one more time before I go to the next week and do damage by pushing myself too hard.

K - You need to come over here one day to do a run and see how much fun it is running/walking up all these freaking hills! I'm nearly winded after my first 5 min brisk walk since it is up a steep hill!

Sounds like you need a good pair of sneakers that actually provide adequate support. Again it is the OT in me, but most sneakers are different, so they provide different support. I went to the Running Room to get fitted for the right sneakers to help ensure that when I am walking and running, I get the best support for proper foot placement. Their shoes are expensive, but proper shoes can prevent injuries, so it was worth it for me.

Repeating week 2 maybe a good idea and it may also help make week 3 a bit easier.

Definitely need better sneakers. It's all about the support. Listen to Dr Rona, lol. Repeat week 2. Cause week 3 is pretty tough. And I have enough hills out here thank you, lol

K - Those are baby hills compared to some of the ones on this road! Well maybe the one on the highway will compete with some of the hills here.
